Cousin in Town

The closest person I can call a brother, in terms of blood, would be my cousin Munther. We haven’t really spent much time together, but our proximity in age and similarity in early life experience probably pushed us to be close together. Many years after Munther left Jordan to the US in 2000 and after I left from the US to Jordan in 2001, Munther is now engaged to his beautiful fiancé and decided to visit Jordan on their way to Turkey for vacation. I saw them for a couple days, once in downtown Amman and the other was in Wadi Rum. Despite the busy week with my mother traveling to the US after a difficult couple of years for her in Jordan, despite an emotional whirlwind in my personal and professional life, and despite a hiccup on the road, I enjoyed the trip and reminded me why the desert is important to visit every now and then. Taking beautiful photos is also rewarding at the end of the day.
