much more to us

For as long as I can remember, the image of the Arab man has suffered. They are seen as one-dimensional and void of nuance.

This photographic journey began as a way for me to understand my own masculinity as I turned a new page into my thirties. It is now an act of providing complexity to the Arab man through collecting as many portraits as possible of boys and men around the country. Each portrait carries a story, an interaction between me and them.

The Arab man holds certain values dear to their heart, values that are undebatable. Hospitality, honor, brotherhood, respect and recognition.

Through these environmental portraits of men and boys, I provide a straightforward examination of the modern and traditional masculine of this land.
