Ajloun

What happens when four friends decide to go on a 2 hour road trip? Magic. That’s what happens.

After our barbecuing to the sunset, we continued our night talking, laughing, creating secret words, changing people’s entire perspective of the Earth and life by watching the moon rise, and talking some more. We went for a quick 3 hour nap before waking up at 5:15 AM to watch the sunrise. We went on a short hike, ziplined, had an amazing breakfast, and visited the only animal shelter for rescued wildlife in the Middle East and North Africa. We also visited the Royal Society for the Conversation of Nature’s academy, where we got to know the bakers behind the most delicious cookies I’ve probably had. We also met the quintessential American Dad, who spoke perfect Arabic with the most American accent. He didn’t even try to hide it.

Below are a selection of photos taken during this quick, yet very important trip for our souls and bodies. Below these photos is a recording I took with my phone as we watched the sun rise with the birds of Ajloun. Please forgive the bad audio quality and sudden thumps and bumps.

I added some photos to my fast growing project, Passing Car, which was not the goal. The goal was to try and capture the moments of this trip with friends. I found myself too shy to put the camera in front of my friends. I sensed some uneasiness inside of me when pointing the camera. But as the time went by I slowly grew more comfortable with them and I think them with me. I look forward to see what more moments I can capture as our beautiful relationships grow and blossom.

Editing these photos was not streamlined. Some in black and white, some in color, looking at each photo and seeing what would fit best for each.
